We are looking for a motivated Assistant (temporary position) to join our Underwriting team in Helsinki while one of our colleagues is on leave. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants exposure to the marine insurance industry, and the chance to learn from experienced underwriters and professionals across our organization. You will have approximately 750 colleagues worldwide and at our Helsinki we are an efficient team of 11.

What you will be doing

As our Assistant, you will be an active member of the underwriting team and support our daily operations, including:

• Preparing and updating KYC documentation
• Supporting processes related to new clients/members
• Assisting underwriters with renewals and risk assessments
• Contributing to marketing and sales activities across our insurance products
• Conducting risk evaluations for new clients
• Handling a variety of administrative tasks to support underwriting activities

This role offers exposure to many parts of our business and provides strong professional development for future careers in insurance, law, finance, compliance, or maritime fields.

We believe you will thrive in this role if you:

• Are genuinely curious about or have experience from the shipping or marine insurance industry
• Have excellent written and spoken English, Finnish, and Swedish
• Enjoy working with numbers, risk analysis, and structured tasks
• Have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and enjoy being part of a team, while being self-driven
• Are comfortable with IT systems and eager to learn new tools/systems
• Are adaptable and can handle shifting needs
• Are currently studying Law, Finance, Maritime studies, or similar, or bring insight or experience in maritime insurance, KYC, compliance, or sanctions

Most importantly, you are motivated to learn, willing to take initiative, and enjoy contributing to meaningful work.

Practicalities:

This is a temporary position for approximately 4 months spanning over the summer months, May-August. Can start earlier upon agreement.
