We are currently hiring DevOps Engineer to be based in Netherlands

Your mission at Epassi
Your mission is to design, build, and maintain backend systems that empower our customers and internal teams. You’ll be a central part of the Engineering team, helping define and implement features, optimize infrastructure, and ensure our systems are scalable, reliable, and secure. Your work will directly impact the employee experience and help us deliver seamless, intuitive solutions to our customers.

Your responsibilities will be

  • Own the design and implementation of the self-service customer portal backend (REST API).
  • Maintain and improve our cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes EKS and PostgreSQL RDS.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and related tooling.
  • Integrate with third-party HR APIs, such as AFAS, NMBRS, and Personio, to provide seamless data flows.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to define, scope, and deliver new features.
  • Support internal teams like Customer Success and Operations to ensure smooth workflows.

What you’ll be doing (daily)

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining backend services and REST APIs.
  • Monitoring and improving cloud infrastructure performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Building and managing CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
  • Collaborating with the Product and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges proactively.

What you should bring

  • 5+ years of Python experience, with a proven track record in complex codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with Python web frameworks (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL query optimization.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab CI).
  • A hands-on, proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong understanding of testing frameworks (e.g., pytest) and best practices.
  • Experience handling projects from design to delivery, including architectural decision-making.

  • Known for taking initiative and improving existing systems when possible.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating within a team environment.
