Senior Business Developer USA

  • Application Deadline: June 23, 2019
  • Stockholm +1 more

Do you love a challenge and are interested in developing Swedish Businesses in one of the world’s most attractive and largest markets? Then we might have the perfect opportunity for you! We are now expanding our team and are looking for a new colleague to join as our Senior Business Developer. You will be based in Sweden and report directly to the Trade Commissioner/Country Manager in the USA.

Business Sweden has had a presence in the U.S. since the 70’s and with a team of about 30 colleagues in our offices in New York, San Francisco and Chicago. Together, we make up one of the most successful, progressive and dynamic business units in Business Sweden in the largest economy in the world. Our role is to help Swedish companies grow their global sales by providing consultancy services on market strategy, entry and establishment. The U.S. is also one of the largest markets to drive investments to Sweden.

We believe that successful selling isn’t about using tricks or persuading a prospect to buy something they don’t need. Instead we believe it is about using a consultative approach to identify the customers' challenges, and uncovering their needs in order to find the best possible solution.

What do we expect from you?

As a Senior Business Developer for the U.S. your main task will be to actively seek new sales opportunities and engage with Swedish companies, both in Sweden and in the U.S. The sales of consulting services will be based on keen insights about the U.S. market. We expect you to have a strong network of relevant contacts in Sweden and coordinate outreach in close cooperation with the team in the U.S. and regional representatives in Sweden.

The ultimate goal is to identify opportunities, with new customers, and turn them in to long-term relationships based on trust and mutual satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Sell and market Business Sweden's services to potential clients in both Sweden and USA
  • Develop, implement and drive the US sales strategy that will result in profitable sales and growth of the overall business
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales
  • Draft and deliver proposals
  • Act a strategic advisor to our customers - not an interruptive product-pusher
  • Initiate and build relationships, open doors, and understand business requirements of senior decision makers
  • Report on sales activity and make presentations to senior executives, board directors and decision makers
  • Travel will be required
