Our company goal is "#1 Security Experience in the World", and as a Senior UX Researcher, you'll be at the vanguard of making that happen. You'll provide our product organization with key qualitative insights that define our future product portfolio, working within a Design function that includes dedicated chapters for UX design, Service design, and Visual design.

During this 18-month maternity leave replacement, you'll be the main point of contact for our UX research practice and operations. You'll lead research efforts from planning through to insight delivery, working closely with our design chapters to strengthen our data-driven decision making. Your work will directly influence how we protect millions of people from modern cyber threats.

This role is based in the Helsinki region of Finland, and we work in a hybrid setting.

Key responsibilities in this role:

• Lead end-to-end research efforts: planning, conducting, analyzing, and communicating insights that drive product decisions
• Serve as the primary point of contact for UX research practice and operations within the Design function
• Collaborate with UX and Service design chapters to improve data-driven decision making across product teams
• Establish and refine research processes, funneling insights effectively into product teams and JourneyOps
• Contribute to F-Secure's design maturity and customer-centric culture

What are we looking for?

We will be relying on you to maintain the practices of our UX research operations and be one of the principal spokespersons of the insight-driven product creation methodology we want to practice. You will be passionate, practical, and outcome-driven, and know how to both deliver value at a tactical and strategic level, and communicate findings effectively.

• Approximately 5+ years of experience conducting and setting up research practice for a product company
• Strong skills in framing and conducting research, and performing insight analysis
• Self-directed working style with experience managing research across multiple products or services
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with research tools such as qualitative data analysis tools (e.g., Condens, Dovetail), unmoderated testing tools (e.g., Lyssna, Usertesting), participant recruitment platforms (e.g., User Interviews), and survey creation tools

You'll stand out if you have:

• Experience with international research
• Experience working on technology products and with AI-powered workflows
• Quantitative research skills
• Some experience in service design practices and familiarity with UX design practices
• Prior experience with B2B2C business models

Our Hiring Process

At F-Secure we want to be efficient and transparent in our recruiting. Below is the process you can expect for this role. Our aim is to move quickly through the steps and ideally to have a weekly cadence in our process.

👋 Introduction stage

30-minute call with the hiring manager. This call is an introduction to the role and F-Secure.

👋 Team interview stage

60-minute call with our Director of Design, Lars Nordqvist and other members of our Design Function. This call consists of an overview of your past projects and experiences (including accomplishments achieved and challenges you have overcome) and a conversation about your preferred approach to UX research.

👋 Final interview stage

60-minute collaborative exercise where you can demonstrate in practice how you would go about setting up research operations, your preferred methodologies, and go-to metrics for measuring success. This call is a chance for us to collaborate; to see you in action, and to get a small sample of what working together would be like. We will provide you with a fictive scenario for you to sink your teeth in, and then we’ll roleplay it out.
