Key ResponsibilitiesFraud Detection & Analysis

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of account activity to identify red flags, suspicious behavior, and potential fraud schemes.
  • Perform complex investigations into fraudulent transactions, including identity theft, account takeovers, synthetic identities, and other emerging fraud typologies.
  • Analyze trends and patterns in member accounts to detect anomalies and provide clear, concise summaries of findings.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

  • Create, complete, and maintain high-quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for fraud-related cases and other sophisticated or high‑risk investigations.
  • Ensure all SAR documentation meets internal standards, regulatory requirements, and filing timelines.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of BSA/AML laws, regulatory expectations, enforcement actions, and industry best practices.
  • Stay up to date with OFAC regulations, sanctions requirements, and related compliance obligations.

Investigation & Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and document suspicious activity across various delivery channels, including digital banking, wire transfers, ACH, remote deposit capture, and card activity.
  • Evaluate risk exposure and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies or escalation when warranted.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather supporting documents, verify member information, and strengthen investigative findings.

Documentation & Communication

  • Prepare detailed investigative summaries that translate complex data and fraud patterns into clear, actionable insights for leadership or regulatory needs.
  • Maintain accurate case records, supporting documentation, and audit‑ready investigation files.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Familiarity with fraud detection systems, AML monitoring tools, and case management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, and related compliance regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in summarizing complex cases.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple high‑risk investigations simultaneously.
