We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Logistics Manager. This position reports to Operations Manager and will work in Litchfield, Illinois office.

About the position

As a Logistics Manager in the Operations team, you will be involved in developing & management of the organization's logistics function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to their destination.

Your main responsibilities

  • Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistics network and operation.
  • Oversee critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Selects vendors, negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods.
  • Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost.
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets.
  • Planning logistics operations for receiving and sending shipments, including managing transportation of goods
  • Arranging for shipping services and establishing relationships with any other companies that will be involved with your company’s deliveries
  • Coordinating with the production department to ensure that needed inventory is ready to be shipped out on a timely basis
  • Maintaining current knowledge of all regulations and laws which apply to the transportation industry
  • Using experience and professional judgment to determine methods for improving logistics procedures, processes and products for the betterment of the company’s operations
  • Developing training programs that promote improvements in logistics management functions, such as optimizing warehouse space utilization, formulating improved packaging programs, etc.

Skills & Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in developing a strong logistics strategy & network. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience within Manufacturing/Distribution Logistics in a supervisory role
  • Freight contract negotiation experience required
  • APICS certifications preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power BI experience required
