Welcome to Sievo Summer Academy 2026!

Are you ready to jumpstart your software development career in a flexible and international environment? Whether you're into Azure, databases, React, C#, .NET, DevOps, or Python and machine learning, we have a role for you!

We are looking for great people (also known as “Summer Seals”) to join our cross-functional development teams as Junior Software Engineers and Junior Machine Learning Engineers. Our teams embrace a “you build, you run” culture, which means that our teams have a lot of experts of various skills. Each team owns a certain domain of our procurement analytics solution, and the team's primary goal is to make their own parts of the domain as good and easy to use as possible.

If you haven't come across Sievo before, here is a quick overview: Sievo is a growing software-as-a-service (SaaS) growth company headquartered in Helsinki with offices in Chicago and Bucharest. As the global leaders in procurement analytics, we serve large, multinational companies including Carlsberg, Kellogg's, Levi's, and Deutsche Telekom, among others.

Junior Software Engineer

In this role you will

• Join one of our engineering teams to work on real features that matter. Whether it’s improving the frontend experience, extending backend functionality, or even building something totally new from scratch.
• Grow your skills by writing production-quality code, contributing to actual user-facing features, and learning how modern software is built and maintained.
• Learn how a software engineering team works day-to-day; code reviews, planning sessions, testing, deployments, feedback loops. You’ll get hands-on experience with the tools and practices used in real-world development.
• Collaborate closely with more senior engineers. We believe learning goes both ways, so while you’ll be mentored and supported, we also want to hear your ideas and fresh perspectives.

What we're looking for

• Some experience in coding and other parts of software development such as user interface design or testing.
• Eagerness to learn how software is built to last years to come, instead of building something for a few months only.
• You’re an easy-going person and courageous to talk with everyone in the team and people outside of the team.

Junior Machine Learning Engineer

In this role you will

• Join the AI & ML team to develop and implement machine learning solutions. You'll work on cutting-edge projects spanning both classical machine learning and generative AI, including agentic AI tools, text classification, and record linkage.
• Grow your expertise in NLP with rich, real-world data. Language processing is central to our work, and with Sievo's extensive customer base and vast amounts of data, you'll find a wide variety of opportunities to apply your skills.
• Learn from experienced teammates while making meaningful contributions. Join a supportive team of ML practitioners who are eager to mentor you – and just as eager to learn from you!

What we're looking for

• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset. We value genuine interest, strong work ethic, and the ability to give and receive feedback as part of a team.
• A machine learning approach to problem-solving. Features, labels, data points, and optimization are familiar concepts. You're comfortable with Python and data workflows. Specific tools matter less than understanding how the pieces fit together.
• Openness to staying longer. Let us know in your application if you'd be interested in potentially continuing your journey with us also beyond the summer.

For both roles it’s great if:

• Are in the mid–to-final stages of your studies for example in the Engineering field or have other related studies.
• You have fluent English skills, as English is our working language.
• You have the courage to question things: we believe development comes from challenging the status quo.
