Summer Trainee, Component Test Development / Summer job

Job Description

We are looking for a Summer Trainee to join our “Component Test Development” in R&D for the summer 2026, focusing on the development and optimization of high-performance laboratory test equipment. In this role, you will assist in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of testing processes while supporting various test development projects.

Your role will include:

• Designing and developing mechanical, mechatronic, and automation systems for laboratory test equipment.
• Conducting Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including planning, measuring, data analysis, and reporting.
• Drafting technical specifications for new equipment and collaborating with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve faults.

We expect you to have:

• Educational background in a relevant field such as Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Engineering Physics, or similar fields.
• Skills in CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of signal processing and data analysis with programming languages as a tool (JMP, Python, or MATLAB).
• Problem-solving skills with a practical and scientific approach.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and perform tests with incomplete documentation.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English (Finnish is an advantage).

The position is a full-time, fixed-term seasonal position and the length of the contract is 3.5 months. Exact working period will be agreed with the selected candidate, but preferred period is May-August 2026. The position is primarily onsite at our Vantaa location.

You will be part of a 9-person expert team, which includes automation and mechanics professionals. Our team is responsible for supporting the various testing needs of product development projects. For us it is important that in addition to technical skills, you have also suitable soft skills and eagerness to learn.
