Role Overview
The Lead Consultant will be responsible for leading solution design and implementation for complex Basware projects. This role involves guiding junior consultants, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality solutions tailored to customer needs. The Lead Consultant acts as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery of large-scale implementations.
Compliance Focus
This role demands strong leadership in ensuring compliance across multi-country implementations. The Lead Consultant will oversee adherence to regulatory mandates, including e-invoicing, e-reporting, and tax requirements, while embedding compliance into solution architecture and delivery processes.
Design Phase
- Lead advanced design workshops with senior stakeholders to define solution architecture and integration strategy.
- Develop comprehensive mapping strategies for AP Automation and Network integrations, ensuring scalability and compliance.
- Collaborate with technical architects to design API notification flows and complex E-Reporting structures.
- Provide strategic recommendations for process optimisation and automation enhancements.
- Ensure alignment of solution design with global compliance requirements and customer objectives.
Build & SIT (System Integration Testing)
- Oversee configuration of invoicing structures, endpoints, and entity hierarchies for multi-entity organisations.
- Manage SIT planning and execution, ensuring coverage of complex integration scenarios and compliance checks.
- Coordinate resolution of technical issues across multiple systems and teams.
- Implement advanced features such as lifecycle setup, E-Reporting dashboards, Directory API integrations, and portal entity registration.
- Ensure documentation of SIT results and provide leadership in defect resolution.
UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
- Design UAT strategy and detailed test plans for complex, multi-country implementations.
- Coordinate UAT execution with customer teams, ensuring compliance validation and functional readiness.
- Perform root cause analysis for defects and oversee resolution process.
- Ensure traceability of requirements and compliance throughout UAT phase.
Move to Production
- Lead Go-Live readiness planning, including risk assessments and contingency strategies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth cutover and minimal business disruption.
- Validate compliance configurations and provide leadership during production deployment.
Hypercare (Post-Go-Live Support)
- Manage escalations during Hypercare and ensure timely resolution of complex issues.
- Monitor system performance post-deployment and implement long-term fixes for recurring issues.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions with customer teams for future self-sufficiency.

Skills & Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 6–8 years of hands-on implementation experience in ERP/AP automation projects.
- Proven ability to lead solution design and manage large-scale implementations.
- Strong expertise in system configuration, data mapping, and integration (APIs, SFTP, REST).
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with e-invoicing standards and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to manage workshops, testing phases, and customer training.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Basware or similar AP automation platforms.
- Exposure to multi-country implementations with varying compliance mandates.
- Knowledge of digital and custom delivery methodologies.
