Epassi’s purpose is to boost everyday well‑being. We are a leading provider of employee benefit solutions across Europe. Established in Finland in 2007, we were the first company in Europe to launch a mobile-payable employee benefit payment solution in 2008. Since then, we have consistently grown, diversified our products and introduced services into new markets. Epassi has been recognised by the Financial Times as one of Europe’s fastest‑growing companies on multiple occasions.

We are currently hiring a Business Intelligence Data Analyst (f/m/d) to be based in Helsinki, Finland or Hamburg or Bremen in Germany (hybrid/flexible).

Your mission at Epassi

Lead the development of Epassi’s analytics environment and turn data into strategic insights that help shape financial, commercial and operational decisions. You will work closely with the FP&A Director, CFO and other and senior leadership to design reports, centralise core datasets, automate analytics workflows and deliver executive-grade dashboards that directly influence decisions that boost the wellbeing of millions of users.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Partner with finance, operations and sales to design and deliver best‑in‑class BI/analytics for the Executive Team and shareholders.
  • Lead end‑to‑end BI & analytics workflows: extract data from source systems, centralise datasets in the data warehouse, implement ETL/ELT processes and enable automated reporting.
  • Build, maintain and optimise Power BI reports and dashboards that make insights simple and actionable.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency and performance across datasets and visualisations.
  • Produce strategic analyses on topics such as customer retention and new business pipeline and present clear recommendations to the CFO and C‑Suite.
  • Promote data literacy and self‑service reporting across the organisation; support and train stakeholders as needed.

You’ll be successful in this role if you:

  • Deliver timely, accurate, executive‑ready Power BI dashboards and reports that are trusted by the CFO and senior leaders.
  • Centralise core datasets in the data warehouse and automate analytics workflows to reduce manual reporting effort.
  • Provide insights that measurably improve strategic KPIs (e.g., improved retention, clearer pipeline visibility).
  • Maintain high data quality and dashboard performance while increasing stakeholder adoption of BI outputs.
  • Influence senior stakeholders through clear communication and actionable recommendations.

What you’ll be doing (daily):

  • Meet with the FP&A director, CFO and senior leaders to gather requirements and present findings.
  • Write and optimise SQL to extract and prepare data for modelling.
  • Design, build and update Power BI reports and dashboards; tune performance.
  • Implement and maintain ETL/ELT processes to populate central DWH datasets.
  • Validate data, troubleshoot issues and ensure report accuracy.
  • Conduct analyses on customer behaviour, retention and pipeline; document models and processes.
  • Support users and promote self‑service reporting across teams.

What you should bring:

  • Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Approximately 3+ years of experience in data analytics / BI (mid-to-senior level), preferably in SaaS, finance or software environments.
  • Strong practical experience with Power BI with Data Analysis Expressions, advanced SQL skills and experience with Hubspot as a CRM system.
  • Experience building and centralising datasets in a data warehouse and implementing ETL workflows.
  • Comfortable working independently, solving complex problems and influencing senior stakeholders.

Your track record:

  • Delivered executive dashboards and reports used by the CFO/C‑Suite.
  • Centralised and automated reporting workflows (DWH + ETL) that reduced manual effort and increased trust in analytics.
  • Built Power BI solutions and optimised data models/report performance.
  • Conducted strategic analyses (e.g., customer retention, pipeline) that led to measurable business impact.
  • Participated in or supported data/operational transformation initiatives in a scaling business.

Your competency profile:

  • Proactivity: You take initiative, spot opportunities or issues early and act to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Communication & Storytelling: You translate complex data into clear, concise insights and recommendations for executive audiences.
  • Analytical Thinking: You structure problems, use appropriate methods and draw robust conclusions from data.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong Power BI, SQL and working knowledge of Python; experience with DWH and ETL tools.
  • Stakeholder Management: You build trust with finance and business leaders, gather requirements effectively and drive adoption.
  • Attention to Detail & Data Quality: You ensure accuracy, consistency and performance of datasets and reports.
