Senior Business Development Manager National & Strategic Accounts

The Senior Manager, National & Strategic Accounts is responsible for driving commercial performance, strengthening national and strategic partner relationships, and ensuring consistent execution of HX’s commercial strategy across the Americas.

This role focuses on strategic account development, commercial planning, co-op optimization, agreement execution, and supporting the broader sales team by providing guidance, clarity, and network insights related to national account programs.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. It collaborates closely with BDMs, Marketing, Revenue Management, Customer Experience, and Global Commercial teams to ensure HX’s national partners receive consistent, high-quality support.

Skills & Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Account Ownership

  • Own the commercial plan and revenue performance for assigned national and strategic accounts.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans informed by partner needs, booking trends, consortia requirements, and HX growth priorities.
  • Manage sales agreements, backend incentives, co-op programs, and reporting cadence with partners.
  • Forecast performance and provide opportunity updates through Salesforce with high accuracy and discipline.

Partner Engagement & Development

  • Build and maintain strong executive and advisor-level relationships across national and strategic partners.
  • Deliver engaging in-person and virtual training, webinars, and presentations tailored to partner needs.
  • Represent HX at relevant trade and partner events, ensuring strong visibility and strategic alignment.
  • Identify and develop new national or strategic partner opportunities.

Field Support & National Program Guidance

  • Support BDMs by providing guidance on national account programs, preferred partner requirements, and consortia commitments.
  • Ensure BDMs have clarity on program expectations, policies, promotional calendars, and account-level priorities.
  • Share network insights, advisor performance trends, and partner intelligence to strengthen territory execution.
  • Serve as subject-matter resource for national/strategic account processes, expectations, and operating rhythms.
  • Coordinate with sales leadership to ensure consistent execution across national agreements and partner programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing to develop high-ROI co-op initiatives and evaluate campaign effectiveness.

Operational/Account Management Excellence

  • Maintain rigorous Salesforce discipline including updates, activities, contacts, and forecasting.
  • Evaluate partner performance, track KPIs, and recommend actions to accelerate growth.
  • Ensure all national account commitments, reporting cycles, and commercial deliverables are met on time.

Requirements:
Knowledge & Skills:

·7+ years in sales, account management, or business development (travel industry preferred).

·Demonstrated success managing national or strategic partner portfolios.

·Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.

·Strong commercial acumen and experience in forecasting, co-op planning, and contract execution.

·High proficiency in Salesforce, MS Office, webinar platforms, and digital communication tools.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Benefits:

Salary for this position is $110k to $125k USD DOE annually plus Sales Incentive Plan.
