Job Description

Aboa Space Research Oy (ASRO) is looking for a Product Assurance Manager to take a key role in ensuring quality, reliability, and safety across our space technology projects and company-wide operations.
Your role with us
As a Product Assurance Manager at ASRO, you will take ownership of product assurance and quality across our space projects and support the development of ASRO’s quality practices as the company grows. The role combines hands-on project work with broader quality development and can be shaped based on your experience.
A major part of your work focuses on supporting ASRO’s ongoing projects. You act as the quality counterpart to project managers and work closely with customers, partners, and suppliers on PA/QA topics. Your responsibilities include product assurance activities for different ESA-projects, covering both hardware and software, as well as projects related to human spaceflight. You help ensure compliance with applicable requirements, balancing ECSS standards with practical solutions, and report quality status to relevant stakeholders.
Alongside project work, you contribute to building ASRO’s company-wide quality foundations. This includes developing and documenting quality and PA processes, supporting supplier quality and non-conformance management, and contributing to internal quality practices related to documentation, configuration control, laboratories, and testing environments. You will also support risk, safety, and occupational safety topics, especially in lab-based work.
In this role, you work closely with ASRO’s team and collaborate with external stakeholders across projects and quality-related topics. ASRO’s project portfolio expands, the role may also involve quality requirements from defence or other regulated domains.
What kind of person thrives in this role and why?

You are comfortable taking ownership, building processes from the ground up, and balancing strict requirements with practical engineering realities. In a small and growing company, you work proactively, stay structured, and confidently bring your own ideas forward. You are motivated by contributing to meaningful space and research missions and by playing a key role in developing quality practices in a high-reliability technology company.
We hope you have:
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering field
- Several years of experience in quality, product assurance, or related roles
- Understanding of working under regulated standards and requirements, and the ability to apply them pragmatically
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to coordinate quality topics across projects and stakeholders
- Full professional proficiency in English; Finnish skills are considered an advantage
We consider as an asset:
- Experience from space technology, aerospace, defence, or medical industries
- Previous responsibility for developing quality processes or systems (e.g. ISO 9001-related work)
- Experience working with ESA/ECSS standards or similar frameworks
- Experience from manufacturing environments
What does ASRO offer you?
- Opportunity to take ownership of quality in a growing company with meaningful space and life science projects, where your work directly support research beyond Earth
- A versatile role where you can directly see your impact, supported by a small, skilled team with minimal hierarchy
- The impact and versatility that come with working in a small company
- Flexible working methods and the possibility of partial remote work
- A monthly salary based on your experience and expertise, along with healthcare insurance as an employment benefit
This is a permanent, full-time role and you will be employed directly to ASRO. Start time in the role is negotiable, but we hope you can start working as soon as possible. The role will be located in Turku, and we hope you are able to work at the office regularly as part of a hybrid model.
