Job Description

Ampliconyx is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Jr. Laboratory Engineer to join their R&D team in Tampere.

What will you be doing?

Ampliconyx focuses on the production of innovative fiber lasers and amplifiers for industrial applications including material processing, bioimaging and spectroscopy. Your role will focus on quality control of the products.

As a Lab Engineer you will build and install benchtop setups prototypes for evaluation, testing, qualification and certification (CE, FDA, etc.). You perform and document quality and lifetime tests and measurements. In addition, you do characterization of optical and electrical performance. You work closely with R&D engineers and physicists to support R&D activities.

We require you to have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Optoelectronics, Physics/Optics or Electrical Engineering or comparable field
  • A basic understanding of system design (including mechanics, electrics/electronics, optics and software) of lasers
  • Interest in testing, validation and hands-on development of laser systems
  • Full working proficiency in Finnish and English

We consider as an asset:

  • Knowledge of fiber optics, lasers or fiber lasers/amplifiers
  • Knowledge of optics, electronics and assembly of fibers (cleaving, splicing, recoating etc.)
  • Experience with electrical and optical measurements
  • Experience with quality standards
  • Experience with software like Mathlab, Origin and/or Labview

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and fixed-term position for two years, with a possibility for continuation. You will be employed directly to Ampliconyx. The role will be located in Tampere, and the position requires working at the office. We hope you can start as soon as possible. Salary in this position is 3500-3700 €/month (gross) depending on the level of your experience, and will be negotiated individually.
