We are now looking for a Head of Data Platforms to take responsibility for building and managing our modern, scalable, and secure data architecture – with a particular focus on SAP Data & Analytics (Datasphere) and Azure.

About the position

As Head of Data Platforms, you play a key role in Coop’s digital journey. You will lead and develop a team of data engineers, architects, and developers, driving innovation and the advancement of our platforms. Your responsibilities cover both daily operations and long-term development, ensuring that technology creates business value and supports Coop’s overall strategy.

You will work closely with other teams within AI & Business Intelligence and Digit, building strong collaborations with stakeholders across the organisation. The role also includes budget and results responsibility for the department.

Your Mission

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of specialists within data.
• Take responsibility for the operation and strategic evolution of Coop’s hybrid data landscape (SAP and Azure).
• Develop and implement strategic and tactical roadmaps in line with Coop’s business goals.
• Ensure high operational reliability, efficiency, and quality in deliveries.
• Continuously improve processes, working methods, and technical solutions.
• Coordinate and steer work together with other stakeholders within Coop.

Who are you?

You are an engaged and innovative leader with experience in driving development work within data teams. You have a solid technical understanding of data architecture and modern platforms, and are used to working agilely and leading teams through change and innovation journeys. You thrive in an environment where collaboration and accountability go hand in hand, and you have the ability to build trust and engagement throughout the organisation.

We would like you to have:

• Experience leading development work within data teams, preferably with personnel and results responsibility.
• Experience working in a matrix organisation and leading through others.
• Solid experience in managing hybrid data landscapes, specifically bridging SAP (e.g. Datasphere) with Azure and Databricks.
• Strategic and analytical ability to see the big picture and translate strategies into concrete action plans.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with both technical and business-oriented stakeholders.
• Academic education (3–5 years) in a relevant field.
• Experience from retail or other complex operations is a plus.
