Project Manager Autonomous Implements

The Kubota Technology Innovation Europe (KTI-EU) department is focusing on technology development for digital solutions and systems in agriculture, from both a fundamental and applied research perspective. The department bridges the gap between strategic market research and collaborations (driven by our Innovation Center Europe) and product development (done by our R&D centers, like Kubota Research and Development Europe and Kverneland Group). The KTI department’s primary focus is on the European market, but in collaboration with the global organization and other regional offices, such as KTI-NA (Dallas, USA) to align and coordinate global initiatives.

In this context, and in order to strengthen our team, we are looking to recruit a Project Manager Autonomous Implements in our office in Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands. The role involves overseeing the right processes and functions to translate requirements into prototypes of agricultural autonomous machinery. Your responsibilities include delivering projects within the set objectives, from a planning perspective as well as a quality and financial perspective. Your relevant technical expertise and background in product development enable you to support the team and facilitate the development process. In this role, you report to both Department Managers and the Headquarters in Japan.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently communicate with the involved parties and create reports on the progress.
  • Make high-level contributions to the project.
  • Manage the software and hardware development process within the project.
  • Directly manage the project team of engineers, managing projects through a hybrid approach of waterfall and/or agile methodologies.
  • Record and communicate necessary activities, including preparation, execution, and recording of meetings, presentations, and gatherings concerning assigned projects.

Skills & Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as a team leader/project manager in a technical product development environment, developing agricultural machinery such as tractors or implements, or experience in developing vehicle automation or autonomous.
  • Completed higher education like a bachelor's degree in for example a mechanical engineering or technical agricultural direction.
  • Experience with project management tools and project reporting (Jira is a plus).
  • Experience in working with international and remote teams.
  • Willingness to travel to support the execution of international projects.
  • Affinity with control systems, sensors, software and/or the agricultural sector is a plus.
  • Good command of spoken and written English is a must.

Competencies:

  • Self-starting
  • Leadership
  • Stakeholder management
  • Planning and organizing
  • Result orientation
