Operations Manager (Supply & Quality Control)

Job Description

This role is designed to provide all aspects of Operational Management and Quality Assurance to ensure the best possible fruit is being delivered across the market. The role is integral to T&G’s Asia business, the Operations Manager will be responsible for establishing and then executing Supply & Quality Control performance in support of the commercial opportunities created by the Sales & Marketing team.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Ensure that the market has consistent supply of “fit for purpose” fruit that meets the market demand. Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget.
• Communicate relevant supply requirements, Quality results and other operational information to New Zealand Corporate Office and the in – market commercial teams as required. Capture, analyse and report on quality inspection results accurately and in a timely manner, escalating key trends as appropriate.
• Oversee the day- to- day operation of the in -market supply chains, Quality check process and ensuring those systems are fit for purpose and to a degree, future proof. Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity.
• Own the Supply Chain processes including Planning, Shipping, Inventory Control, Warehousing, Distribution and Logistics for products and value-added services. Own and improve Taiwan Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to optimize customer service levels and working capital using forecasting and inventory control best practices.
• Ability to track and manage shipment processes, coordinating with suppliers and logistics providers. Knowledge of customs procedures, tax regulations, and import laws, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Anticipate factors influencing demand, such as seasonal fluctuations, while maintaining a deep understanding of demand inputs (e.g., seasonality, inventory policy) and their effects on downstream factors (inventory, capacity, lead time, cost, replenishment demand).
• Manage the stakeholder relationships with our Service Providers/ 3PL partners in a way that encourages high-performance and cost effectiveness. Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operation of the company.
• Advise T&G Taiwan/ Asia management on any current supply & quality issues that many impact on future availability of fruit. Recommend system and tool improvements, implement and measure operational changes.
