Prototype Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Prototype Technician who will be working with our Hypercar assemly. Main focus will be to build, modify, maintain and repair prototype and pre-series Zenvo vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable and representative for engineering development, testing and demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle build & modifications
  • Assemble and modify prototype vehicles according to engineering instructions, build sheets and change notes.
  • Install and remove prototype components (powertrain, chassis, aerodynamics, electronics, interiors, etc.).
  • Support rapid configuration changes between test runs or events.
• Diagnostics, repair & maintenance
  • Perform mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnostics on prototype vehicles.
  • Identify root causes of issues and perform corrective actions in coordination with engineers.
  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to keep test vehicles in safe, ready condition.
• Test support
  • Prepare vehicles for track, road, rig and lab testing (fluids, torque checks, safety checks).
  • Support test activities on site (track days, durability tests, customer demos) including quick repairs and setup changes.
  • Install and remove data acquisition systems, sensors, and logging equipment as required.
• Documentation & feedback
  • Record all work performed in build and maintenance documentation.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for test issues.
  • Report faults, observations and improvement ideas clearly to engineers and lead technicians.

Qualifications

• Vocational education in automotive technology, mechatronics or similar.
• Several years’ experience as an automotive technician, ideally with performance cars, motorsport or prototype work.
• Experience with diagnostics tools (OBD, OEM tools, logging systems) and reading wiring diagrams.
• Experience with high-voltage or hybrid/electric vehicles is an advantage.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills; comfortable with complex, non-standard setups.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings, wiring diagrams, test instructions and change notes.
• High sense of responsibility for vehicle safety and test readiness.
• Flexible and comfortable with frequent changes, time pressure and occasional travel for test activities.
• Clear communicator with engineers and drivers; good at translating symptoms into technical information.
• Structured, self-driven and meticulous about documentation and traceability.
