This position reports to Tom Joughin and will work at our Industrial Parkway location.

- PDM Assistance
- Product Design within Awnings, Refrigeration, and Sanitation
- Prototype Development, 3D printing and first shot evaluations.
- Lab Testing with early samples to identify risks.
Your main responsibilities
- Develop plastic snap fit design guidelines for Snap-fit components to eliminate fasteners. Utilizing different plastics and different loads of the snap-fit.
- Design a robust dual hinge door latch for refrigerators. Opening from RH or LH.
- Spend two weeks at a Dometic MFG site to understand assembly tolerances. Report design improvement to improve productivity.

Skills & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role shall have the following qualifications and experiences:
- Must be a current student or recent graduate of a university or college. Minimum of a rising sophomore level.
- Coursework related to the internship role in Engineering or Manufacturing
- Rapid prototyping processes and 3D modeling.
- Solidworks modeling, model manipulation to show movement and component interactions.
- Design for Manufacturing.
To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS office software, Solidworks, Ability to use calipers and micrometers, GD&T, and Mechanical aptitude.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
