Human Resource Manager

Dometic Land Vehicles Americas is a trusted provider of high-end products for recreational vehicles, commercial passenger vehicles and overlanding vehicles in North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean. We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Human Resource Manager within our Human Resources capability. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and will work in Elkhart, IN.

About the Position

In this role you will be a part of the HR leadership team for Land Vehicle Americas and provide HR partnership to the corporate functions within the segment. Partnering closely with shared services, talent, compensation and benefits and operations HR, you will help to develop and implement HR plans and strategies while promoting an engaging and inclusive workplace across Dometic’s locations. You will have the opportunity to coach business leaders in the day-to-day performance of their teams to drive organization success, lead and develop direct reports, and interact with cross-segment HR peers in strategic project work.

Your main responsibilities

  • Develop and drive implementation of HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of business objectives and desired organizational culture.
  • Conduct investigations and provide coaching and consultation on employee relations issues.
  • Drive talent planning initiatives within assigned groups.
  • Partner with HR team members to develop, manage and implement transformational HR projects.
  • Facilitate training on HR topics and Leadership skills
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local laws; keeps abreast of changes in employment legislation impacting the company and makes recommendations for required changes.
  • Update and administer HR policy and procedures
  • Create effective partnerships with appropriate internal customers to successfully accomplish strategic and tactical goals.
  • Analyzes data and internal processes and explores best practice opportunities for process improvement.
  • Manage support staff, including HR Generalist, Office Coordinator and Receptionist
  • Drive employee and community engagement

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be demonstrated progressive experience within an in-business Human Resources function – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience
  • Managerial experience
  • Experience with HRIS, UKG a plus

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the gravitas to engage with employees at all levels from entry level to senior executive.
  • Relationship builder who leads via influence vs. positional power.
  • Proven track record of developing and growing direct reports.
  • Must have working knowledge of applicable laws relating to employment in the geographical areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize work, and manage deadlines. Consistently looks for process improvements.
  • Must be trustworthy, exercise good judgment, and manage confidential matters appropriately
  • Ability to analyze data, conduct research, benchmark, and make recommendations to improve processes.
  • Experience with compliance, as well as policy creation and enforcement.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PPT
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to travel to other locations locally and within the U.S.
