Job Summary

The Studio Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the design department’s time, resources, and deliverables. The role ensures seamless integration between Design and Engineering, enabling high-quality design outcomes that meet customer and program deadlines. This position requires strong project planning capabilities, deep experience in automotive design processes, and the ability to translate creative requirements into structured plans.

Key Responsibilities

Design Planning & Coordination

  • Lead the overall planning of the design department’s workload, timelines, and resource allocation.Break down program and customer requirements into structured design tasks.
  • Coordinate and schedule individual design assignments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Plan and manage customer specification sessions, including associated design modifications, custom features, geometries, and livery updates.
  • Track progress, identify risks, and adjust plans in alignment with shifting priorities or program changes.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Serve as the primary interface between Design and Engineering, securing a smooth, structured workflow between the functions.
  • Translate design requirements into engineering-ready inputs and ensure feasibility alignment early in the process.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings, review loops, and decision checkpoints to maintain project flow.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience as a Studio Engineer, Design Planner, or similar role with strong emphasis on project planning.
  • Extensive experience in automotive design environments, including hands-on exposure to design development workflows and resource planning.
  • Proven ability to manage complex design tasks, custom features, and multi-stakeholder design processes.
  • Strong understanding of automotive geometry, surface development processes, and design-to-engineering integration.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
