Development Director

Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control®, Max Payne®, FBC: Firebreak®, Alan Wake®, and one of the leading independent game studios in the world, is looking for a Development Director to create high-quality gaming experiences for the next generation of games.

Remedy is looking for a skilled and dedicated Development Director to take on a new, unannounced project. In this role, you will be part of the project's core leadership team and work closely with the Executive Producer and Game Director. You will collaborate across our studio, hence we are looking for a seasoned professional with strong communication and project management skills to join our talented, dynamic team.

As the Development Director, you will establish and drive the project management and operational model for the project's lifecycle. You will direct how the project gets organized and managed to deliver the game on time, budget, and quality, within the given constrains of creative, technology and business case.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Create effective and complete full-project strategies in collaboration with the project's core leadership team.
  • Establish the project scope and plans to deliver the game on time, budget and quality, in collaboration with the project's core leadership team, leads and development managers.
  • Break down the project scope into sub-projects with the project's leads and development managers to facilitate the scheduling, resource planning and cost analysis.
  • Drive the project's operational model and team structure and keep a healthy team culture.
  • Define, refine, implement and monitor the production processes and actively seek for improvement to gain operational efficiency and better quality. 
  • Guide the project team in production tools (e.g. Jira) usage ensuring production data integrity across the teams.
  • Ensure transparent and active communication towards the project's core leadership team, leads, and development managers, as well as the studio stakeholders.
  • Drive the project risk and quality management processes.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • You have a strong track record as a Development Director/Lead Producer with at least one AAA PC/Console project shipped in a production leadership position.
  • You have excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • You have experience as a supervisor and have proven experience in people management and people growth over time, and the ability to lead and motivate.
  • Your organizationally savvy verbal and written communications skills help pick the right communication approaches for the appropriate audience.
  • You are motivated to develop the production planning and management processes and tools further with the game project team and as part of Remedy Production Department.
  • You have thorough operational experience with multiple production planning and management software (Jira etc).
  • You contribute with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and you are highly motivated and have the capacity to learn new skills, use new tools, and meet new people.
  • You thrive working in a team environment, sharing ideas and learning from others. You are used to collaborating with colleagues across different departments and you are able to communicate and present your ideas in a clear and coherent way. As a team member you are dedicated contributing towards a friendly and inclusive work environment.
  • You can also work independently, being organized and able to document your work.

Additional Skills We Would Like to See:

  • Leadership role in production/development management craft (e.g. craft lead).
