Production Planning Supervisor

Objective

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Planner Coordinator with supervisory responsibilities to join our team. In this dual role position, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules to meet customer demands and company goals while also supervising a team of production staff. You will ensure optimal use of resources, enforce quality and safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop, monitor, and adjust daily and weekly production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with procurement, inventory control, and logistics teams to ensure material availability and timely delivery of products.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks or delays and implement solutions to improve workflow.
  • Maintain accurate production records, KPIs, and reports for internal use and management review.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with customer orders and business objectives.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to production team members to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor employee performance, conduct evaluations, and assist in resolving personnel issues in coordination with HR.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new production employees.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

  • Education: Master or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    3+ years of experience in production planning, manufacturing coordination, or similar role.
    1+ year in a supervisory or team lead position preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, materials planning (MRP), and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP (preferable Key User Level), MS Office package)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiar with Kaizen and Lean principles/methodologies.

Communication

Communicates with:

  • All the relevant departments to coordinate their own order planning and availability of materials, people and resources and order progress.
  • The SCM & Sales department regarding the main production plan and coordination of the overall planning process.
  • The 3PL logistics partners.

Language
Knowledge of the English language for communication with internal and external organizations (Dutch is a plus).
