We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Plant Controller. This position reports to General Manager and will work in Litchfield, Illinois.

About the position

As a Plant Controller in the Litchfield team, you will be involved in the day-to-day Finance operations for the Litchfield facility within Dometic Marine. You will be responsible for preparing month-end closings, financial forecasts, and consolidations. You will also provide financial advice to the manufacturing department through the study of financial data; meeting corporate reporting requirements of the division; and managing, training, and evaluating accounting personnel to ensure the accuracy of physical inventory and flow of raw materials, tools, and other assets in various manufacturing departments.

Your main responsibilities

  • Review the financial viability of new product ideas and the projected cost of development
  • Analyze financial results and variances, identify trends, and recommend and drive actions
  • Prepare annual business plans and quarterly forecasts
  • Provide information to management team by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; and conducting presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations
  • Develop, implement, and track plant efficiency metrics
  • Analyze Cost Improvement Project (CIP) proposals and track actual vs. projected performance
  • Track commodity inflation/deflation trends and projects
  • Set targets and monitor performance of the sourcing team
  • Assist with the preparation of capital expenditure requests
  • Provide support for logistics, production forecasting, and product development
  • Provide clarity of understanding and drive improvements in cost reporting and related infrastructure
  • Report manufacturing costs for corporate level issues
  • Maintain proper accounting processes and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility to ensure no significant control issues
  • Oversee accurate and timely cost inputs for the annual operating plans
  • Oversee clear, concise, and timely monthly closings of the manufacturing systems to meet the stated deadlines and reporting needs
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to requests for accounting information
  • Maintain a strong and results-driven relationship with site Controllers and all levels of management
  • Review financial transactions to ensure compliance with government requirements
  • Develop and improve financial systems and procedures

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within hands-on senior level accounting within packaging & distribution environment – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field required, CPA and familiarity with GAAP highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing accounting/finance in a warehouse distribution and/or manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in financial analysis, inventory accounting, and a solid understanding of cost accounting are essential
  • Possess a solid understanding of the financial and operating aspects/measurements within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven successful track record of analyzing data and information gaps as well as presenting and implementing solutions
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and accounting systems such as Oracle, SAP, or D365
  • Experience working with complexities of a global/multi-national business is preferred
  • Leadership and team building experience
