Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer, you are responsible for analyzing, improving, and developing maintenance processes within our technical organization. Your focus is on increasing the reliability and availability of installations, reducing breakdowns, and optimizing maintenance concepts. In close collaboration with production and other departments, you will work on a sustainable and future-proof maintenance strategy. Working alongside the team of 5-10 mechanical and electrical maintenance technicians, you will be reporting to the team lead Asset Management.

You are an analytically strong and solution-oriented professional with a passion for technology and process optimization. You are able to connect data with practical experience and continuously look for improvement opportunities. You are also a strong communicator and enjoy working with various disciplines.

Skills & Requirements

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and operational efficiency;
  • Manage and continuously improve the asset structure, maintenance plans, and spare parts inventory within the Maintenance Management System (ERP);
  • Prepare and coordinate work orders, including material planning, outsourcing, and supplier communication;
  • Lead and support structured problem-solving and improvement initiatives (FMECA, RCA, Kaizen, 5S) while promoting Maintenance Excellence across the team;
  • Monitor and report maintenance performance (OEE and related KPIs), ensuring accurate data, clear documentation, and effective knowledge sharing with technicians and operators.

Skills:

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field;
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a technical or maintenance-related role in an industrial (manufacturing) environment;
  • Proven experience with ERP and maintenance systems (such as SAP, Ultimo, or Maximo);
  • Knowledge of and experience with methodologies such as FMECA, RCA, RCM, and condition-based maintenance;
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive, results-driven attitude;
  • Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written;
