Working as a software engineer
In this role, the team’s primary focus is addressing the needs of our Scandinavian customers – those closest to us. We call this 'local development.' Together with our end-users, we create solutions that simplify their everyday workflows. Many solutions are tailor-made to meet the expectations of a specific market or a unique customer, enhancing the experience of Sectra’s core offering.
What you will do:
- Own products and features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, documentation, and support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and end-users, to translate clinical needs into robust solutions
- Deliver software with a short release cycle and a fast-paced feedback loop
- Be part of a team that shares knowledge, coaches each other and give feedback to improve
- Continuously learn and evaluate new tools, methodologies, and frameworks
- Apply AI tools (e.g. code assistants, code generators) responsibly to increase velocity without compromising quality, security, or cost

The local development team consists of a tight-knit group of ten developers. With our base in Linköping, we work alongside many of Sectra's other development teams, collaborating toward shared goals and supporting one another.

Skills & Requirements

We always look for your willingness and ability to learn and take on new tasks fast, utilize previous experiences and quickly grasp new information. We also want you to have a strong analytical mindset in which we consider it to be important that you can understand and break down and solve problems. We also look for good communicators who have the ability to interact with colleagues, partners and customers in an effective, clear and constructive way.
What you bring:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within engineering, IT or similar with a strong academic record
- Experience with professional software development, with proficiency in C# and the .NET technology stack
- A strong interest in new and innovative technology
- Outside the box thinking and curiosity, to explore user needs and design new solutions
- Quality focus through automated testing, build pipelines etc.
- Fluency in English and a Scandinavian language, both verbally and written
In addition, we consider it a great asset if you:
- Have experience with front-end technologies, such as React
- Have experience with cloud and container frameworks, such as Azure and Kubernetes
- Have experience with delivering software as a service
- Have an understanding of Scandinavia healthcare
- Have passionate interests outside work, such as sports, music, games or unique hobbies
