Help build the platform for democratizing training in scientific computing. At scale!
Provide infrastructure for world’s scientists to learn from top experts, practice instantly in the cloud, and get live coaching on-demand.
About Us
Every year, tens of millions of scientists, engineers, and students worldwide hit the same wall: they need advanced computing skills. But the training is fragmented, unscalable, and often inaccessible. Self-study, workshops, and general online platforms, fail to provide tailored, hands-on support from experts on-demand and at scale. Moreover, setting up a computational environment is often complex and time-consuming.
Modeliqa is here to change that.
Founded on over 20 years of global experience in scientific computing and training, and powered by a worldwide network of top-level contributors, Modeliqa is building the first all-in-one platform where learners can:
Why now?
This is not a “nice-to-have” — it’s solving a validated, urgent gap in a multi-billion-euro market.
Where are we now?
Modeliqa is supported by KTH Innovation, giving us access to a world-class innovation ecosystem, expert business development support, and a strong network of academic and industry collaborators.
The Role
We’re looking for a technical co-founder to lead development of the Modeliqa MVP and beyond.
Your mission: turn our validated concept into a scalable, global learning platform.
In the first 6-9 months, you’ll take on challenges like designing learner and instructor flows, integrating live mentoring, and setting up interactive HPC environments — all while shaping the tech architecture from scratch.
This is not a “code-to-spec” role — you’ll have the freedom to build and expand a platform that grows from its first users to hundreds, and eventually thousands, worldwide.
What We Offer
At this stage, compensation is equity-based. As a co-founder at Modeliqa, you’ll be setting up the future of a company that is already validated in a critical and underserved niche. The platform will have a real impact on science and has the potential to accelerate breakthroughs across scientific computing — from AI and drug development to novel materials and climate research. The demand is there, engaged users are eager for solutions and instructors ready to provide them.
You’ll have creative and technical autonomy, building the product vision side by side with the CEO, free to experiment, innovate, and make bold architectural choices. The position offers learning and growth opportunities, becoming part of the KTH Innovation ecosystem, and a future path to a substantial salary once funding is secured.
We think you’ll do excellent if you have strong experience in full-stack development and cloud applications (React/Vue + Node.js/Python/Django or similar), proven ability to design and deploy scalable software (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience with interactive computing environments (e.g. Jupyter Notebooks).
Bonus points to complement are familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes), understanding of authentication, API integrations, and payment processing (Stripe, PayPal), video streaming and/or conferencing integrations (e.g., WebRTC, Zoom APIs) and background in scientific computing and HPC workflows.
But we don’t expect that you tick every box — we value drive, problem-solving, and a willingness to learn fast. We’re looking for someone curious, resilient, someone ready to go for fast iterations, openness, and building a product that genuinely helps learners succeed.
About the Role
You won’t be “employee #27” — you’ll be a co-founder, taking this journey with us from the very beginning. Together, we’ll decide how scientists, engineers, and students learn the skills that power the future. If you’re excited about building from zero, want real ownership, and see yourself as a partner in co-creating a global learning platform, we’d love to hear from you.
