Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an experienced Quality professional to join our passionate team in Västerås (Stockholm can be possible as well) to take the lead for the implementation of Northvolt's Quality Management System.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Quality Management System Lead will be in charge of analysing and planning the QMS needs and requirements, to define the roadmap for building the QMS and for being the project manager for the implementation. As leader for the QMS you will have the opportunity to build a cutting edge, efficient and effective QMS from scratch, thereafter you will be instrumental in overseeing it's efficiency and effectiveness. You will be in charge of setting up and executing the long term vision and strategy for the Northvolt Quality Management System reporting to the Director of Quality.

You will be working intimately with all teams across Northvolt, especially focusing on the short term, needs driven areas to start with and then developing the roadmap and plan for the entire QMS covering all business processes and teams. You will work on behalf of the Management Team to develop end implement our QMS over the next 2-3 years and thereafter set-up the continued management and control of the system focusing on continuous improvement. You will also work very closely with the Environmental team and in setting up the Environmental Management system according to ISO14001.

In general you have a long experience in project management, change projects and hands-on experience from developing quality management systems. You have extensive experience from driving large, innovative and challenging projects with high demands on change management and long-term success.

Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working with ISO9001 as well as IATF16949.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure Quality Policy, Quality Goals and Quality principles are defined and communicated in Northvolt
  • Define the Northvolt Quality Management system long-term goals and vision as well as the strategy and plan for developing and implementing the QMS.
  • Lead the execution of implementing the QMS
  • Provide leadership for the Quality Management System internally and host external Customer reviews.
  • Train teams and individuals in QMS
  • Collaborate with the IT team to set-up required IT tools.

Skills & Requirements

  • Relevant University Degree and Quality Management accreditation

  • 5+ years working experience in developing Quality and/or Environmental Systems

  • Track record of successful project and QMS implementations

  • Strong experience and skills in supporting IT solutions for QMS

  • Educated in lean manufacturing, six-sigma, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949

  • Excellent knowledge of Risk Management and Business Process Management

  • Be a strong leader with experience from implementing and shaping the company's processes and strategies

  • Curious, technically educated and with a strong business background

  • Leadership skills with a strong ability to influence and create momentum

  • Experience from multi-cultural environment with excellent collaboration skills

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
