Quality Assurance Manager - Poland

Northvolt is establishing its first facility to industrialize and produce battery systems. In order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market, we are establishing a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions in Gdansk, Poland.

Quality Assurance Manager will coordinate the quality policies. You will have an opportunity to be an effective organizational leader and a member of management team. You will closely cooperate with Northvolt Poland team of each departments as well as Northvolts Stockholm battery system division. You will ensure that quality systems are in place to measure, evaluate and improve quality across programs, services, operations, components and products. You will report directly to the COO.

Key responsibilities

  • Defining QA strategy, approach and execution.
  • Leading and directing the QA leadership team.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise within Test Automation and Quality Assurance.
  • Be accountable for the test automation projects, mentor, and provide leadership to the QA automation developers and managers.
  • Participate in interviews, induction, training and performance evaluation of all QA leads.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise within the field of Quality Assurance and Testing.
  • Monitoring of all the QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement. Implement steps required to improve the processes.

Skills & Requirements

  • Relevant University Degree.
  • Strong experience and skill in supporting IT solutions (quality, dashboards, reporting, ERP).
  • Quality Management experience in high volume manufacturing in electronic, energy or automotive sector.
  • Be a strong leader with experience in implementing and shaping the company's QA processes and strategies.
  • Have strong technical skills, both functional and non-functional, manual and automation, ideally in a continuous delivery environment.
  • Strong communication skills with all the key stakeholders to ensure QA vision is understood and implemented correctly.
  • Knowlegde of lean manufacturing, six-sigma (green or black belt), 8D, 5S, ISO 9001. Considered advantage: ISO 14001, IATF 16949.
  • Be an advocate of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of Risk Management, Risk Identification and Risked Based Testing.
  • Flexible with the ability to and work under pressure.
  • Proactive, strong-minded, quick thinker and assertive.
  • Experience in building a QA-organization from scratch.
  • Hands on approach.
  • Fluent English.

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration.
