ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an Environmental/sustainability coordinator to join our passionate team in Stockholm and Västerås.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Environmental coordinator will be in charge of management systems compliances, LCA coordination and calculations, sustainability compliances, REACH etc. As future leader in the company you will have the opportunity to build a competent and dependable project team from scracth, capable to scale Northvolt’s operations in Sweden and beyond. You will be in charge of setting up and executing the long term sustainability in the company reporting to the EHS Director.

The unit will primarily support the Environmental, Finance and Legal team to create a professional sustainability compliance overall in the company.

You will be working intimately with the process and procurement team with demands and sustainability diligence related issues. Our aim is to leverage on the green factory ambition as we grow the company.

In general you have experience in the field and have been driving large, innovative and challenging environmental compliance projects with high demands on sustainability from employer, customers and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • environmental related due diligence support for the finance and procurement team
  • develop and implement environmental, safety and energy management systems
  • compliance related to directives (for instance REACH)

Education/Experience

  • A degree in Environmental/MSc or Relevant University Degree
  • 5+ years working experience in environmental management or sustainability management
  • Track record of successul environment management achievements
  • Curious, technically educated and with a strong business background
  • Must have worked in multi-cultural environment
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
  • Highly organized and result-driven

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
