Key Account Manager - Automotive - German Speaking

The electrification or cars, trucks and busses is one of the most extensive and disruptive industry transformations ever. Northvolt leads this change and aims to become the leading battery partner for the European automotive industry and set new benchmarks for sustainability and CO2 footprint.

As a Key Account Manager you get the opportunity to drive this transformation at leading automotive companies in Europe. You are responsible for all short and long-term activities at the customer.

We believe you have a solid background in both business development as well as project management in the automotive industry, maybe at a Tier 1 supplier. You are skilled at selling complex technical solutions and have a track record of successfully managing both engineering projects and business relationships.

You bring technical interest and understanding as well as business talent. As a person you are structured, love to execute plans and meet ambitious targets.

You will be part of the Automotive team and work closely with both our Project, Operations and R&D; teams to sell and deliver superior products and solutions to our customers. The role reports to our Director of Business Development Automotive.

You will be based in Stockholm, Sweden and travel on a weekly basis to your customers in Europe.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • MSc engineering
  • +7 years of experience from complex sales and project management, preferably from the Automotive industry
  • Successful history of working with both technical teams as well as senior management and purchasing
  • Knowledge of battery industry is desirable
  • Startup and growth company experience is a major advantage

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English and German written and oral communication skills in both technical and business environments
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressure multi-cultural environment
  • Thrive working within tight deadlines and excellent at time management
  • Have plenty of grit, a can-do attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, a great eye for quality, a sense of humor and a curious mind

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
