The electrification or cars, trucks and busses is one of the most extensive and disruptive industry transformations ever. Northvolt leads this change and aims to become the leading battery partner for the European automotive industry and set new benchmarks for sustainability and CO2 footprint.

As an Automotive Project Manager, you are driving customer development projects involving technical, timing, financials elements while being the primary interface between customer and the internal engineering and operations teams.

We believe you have a background in managing technical Automotive or Industrial customer projects. You have a genuine technical interest and knowledge as well as a business talent. As a person you are structured, love to execute plans and meet ambitious targets.

You will be part of the Automotive team but drive the development projects across the whole company in order to deliver superior products and solutions to our customers. The role reports to our Director Automotive Business.

You will be based in Stockholm, Sweden and travel on a regular basis to your customers in Europe.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • MSc engineering
  • +5 years experience from complex cross functional development projects, preferably from the Automotive industry
  • Successful history of working with both technical teams as well as management and purchasing
  • Familiarity with Automotive Development Processes / APQP process is an advantage
  • Knowledge of battery industry is an advantage
  • Startup and growth company experience is an advantage

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English and German written and oral communication skills in both technical and business environments.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressure multi-cultural environment
  • Thrive working within tight deadlines and excellent at time management

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
