We’re looking for a manager with experience in performance marketing who’s excited about the opportunity to lead our Performance Marketing team. The role reports to our CMO and currently includes leadership of a team of three.
Once Upon is a modern and flexible place to work, in terms of technology as well as methodology. We’re growing at a fast pace, so if you’re interested in being part of building something that's only in the beginning of it's journey – this will be your cup of tea. Our app has over 7,6 million downloads and our goal is to keep growing quickly and steadily.
About the role
As Head of Growth Marketing, you will drive paid media strategy and take ownership of the entire growth funnel – from acquisition to retention – in close collaboration with Product Managers. You combine creative and analytical thinking, work cross-functionally to unlock dependencies, and lead a strategic experimentation agenda to optimize conversion, LTV, and CAC. Success in this role requires a solid understanding of attribution, cohort analysis, and app funnel metrics – as well as the ability to drive growth initiatives in close collaboration with marketing, lifecycle, and product teams.
What you’ll do:
Your background
Although a degree in marketing or related fields is a plus, practical experience is more important for this role. Therefore, you have at least 5 years experience from a specialist role in performance marketing, where you likely worked for an agency or consumer company. You have a genuine interest for data driven sales, and a deep understanding of digital marketing – from strategy to execution.
The role demands strong knowledge in analytic tools such as Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads Manager, Google Analytics and Appsflyer. An understanding of Pinterest, TikTok and App Store is also valuable. Additionally, you are fluent in written and spoken English.
Who you are
Experience from managing a team is a big plus, but most important is leadership skills: to succeed in a role as a leader with us, you are truly driven by seeing others grow. You have a coaching mindset, and like to work closely with others to set plans, come up with new ideas, and share knowledge. Self motivation and problem solving come easy to you since you are a person who sees possibilities where others see obstacles.
Working at Once Upon
Our app was created to help people save their favorite moments in an easy and fun way, a little at a time, making everyone’s memories shine. And that’s how we want our workplace to be too – life (and work) at Once Upon should definitely be filled with happiness. Because happiness is the key to success, not the other way around. Right? We’re also proud to be both a B Corp and a certified Great Place to Work® – recognitions that reflect our long-term commitment to sustainability, trust and a strong people-first culture.
We strive for a safe, caring environment that gives everyone space to be their whole self, all the time. If you are free and have fun at work, it is easier to be passionate and responsible for what you do. We always dare to do what we believe in – failing at something is not the opposite of succeeding in the long run. And we always strive to make things better, for our Once Uponers, for our planet, and for each other.
Through innovation, co-creation, transparency and our collective knowledge as a team we always aim to bring value to our Once Uponers. And that collective brain grows with every new colleague that we welcome to the team, enriching us with new perspectives, experiences, and views on life.
At Once Upon, we are committed to being a company that leads by example. This means doing the work to be inclusive and equitable, across all aspects of our business.
Location
Our headquarters is located in Skellefteå, in the North of Sweden. We also have offices in Piteå, Örnsköldsvik, Umeå and Stockholm. We are remote flexible, but we value the creativeness and sense of community that follows from meeting face to face with colleagues. For this role, we're looking for someone in either the Stockholm or Skellefteå office.
