Senior Statistician (M/F)

A consultant with expertise in social statistics. Notably, the candidate must prove of

  • at least ten-years’ experience in surveys design, survey methodology, data validation, data processing and analysis related to social statistics and notably EU-SILC survey.
  • at least one peer-review publication;
  • advanced level of the use and programming in SAS.

Functions

In cooperation with the client team, the candidate will

  • analyse the current survey methodology and propose improvements;
  • improve the quality documentation and their communication to the whole community of EU-SILC users;
  • contribute through the drafting of guidelines to the EU-SILC revision process;
  • perform treatment and validation of EU data and metadata, develop and implement validation checks to improve the quality and comparability of data related to EU-SILC surveys;
  • be in charge of the dissemination of statistical information (draft, edit statistical texts, handles requests for information on statistical issues, give presentation in meetings);
  • draft report about work progress.

Skills & Requirements

Profile

  • A Master Degree in economics or statistics or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the domain of social statistics;
  • At least five years of experience in working with official data and with SILC survey;
  • Fluent in English (C1 level both speaking and writing). Knowledge of French or German is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of Excel and database management;
  • Sound drafting capacity (study reports or publications);
  • Capacity to work in autonomy;
  • Good relationship
  • Communicative, rigorous and organised
