Senior Consultant / Project Manager, Milan

We are currently looking for a new Senior Consultant or Project Manager to join our team in Milan.

You will join Region Europe, a key region in Business Sweden that operates from 14 local offices across Europe. In addition to Italy, our Milan office is covering Greece, Cyprus and Malta. Our role is to help Swedish companies grow global sales and international companies invest and expand in Sweden.

Our consultancy services include e.g., market entry & growth strategies including M&A, sales acceleration, tech scouting as well as Public Affairs support. We help Swedish companies enter new markets, understand market dynamics, identify local partners, appreciate the regulatory landscape, and build out their services or product offering.

As a Senior Consultant/ Project Manager, you will scope, lead and deliver projects that provide support to leading Swedish companies in their international business development and expansion in Italy as well as in other markets in Europe.

You will also be part of a business development team, drive client dialogues, and insight driven initiatives of new business opportunities, as well as prospecting and developing customer value propositions.

The role includes both strategic, tactic and operational responsibilities such as:

  • Represent Business Sweden as a trusted advisor, finding solutions to our clients’ most pressing challenges in the markets we cover, but also in all of Europe
  • Drive client dialogues, and take on full sales cycle responsibility including monitoring leads, developing pipeline, and developing project scope, proposals, and cost
  • Lead, manage, and develop project team members to ensure successful project deliveries and team competency development
  • Collecting, analysing, and presenting information and insights, which you will get from interactions with external stakeholders on the market.
  • Preparing and arranging trade delegations, round table discussions and B2B meetings for Swedish companies.
  • Support in our collaboration with the Swedish Embassies in the countries we operate in, to provide support and business promotion platforms for Swedish companies.

The role is based in Milan, but you will be expected to work with our teams and clients around the world, as required.

Formal requirements

  • Master’s degree in business, STEM, or similar field
  • 5 + years of experience working in management consulting or other advisory services with a focus on business development and project management
  • Experience in defining project scope, direction, timeline, and objectives and monitor deliverables and team responsibilities
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • For the project manager role
    • Proven track record of developing and executing deals with deep customer insight, strong negotiation and closing skills
    • Leadership experience from leading teams and an interest in developing and growing talents
  • A high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English and Italian
  • Proficiency in Swedish is highly meriting. Proficiency in Greek, Spanish and French is meriting
  • You are solution-oriented, analytical with the ability to handle new challenges. You have excellent social and team-working skills with an exceptional drive and commitment
  • You have operated in an international context with business and market focus
  • Experience from working in Italy and Greece is meriting
