As we establish a new, dedicated IT organisation for Schibsted Media, we are building modern, secure, and intuitive services to support our mission—and we need you on the journey.

Are you passionate about delivering great user experiences? Do you want to develop and operate the tools that help journalists and employees do their best work? Then keep reading.

What you’ll do

As a Client Platform Engineer in the User Devices and Tools team, you’ll play a key role in developing and operating the client platform used across Schibsted Media. You’ll help our employees work efficiently and securely—whether in the newsroom or remotely—by building intuitive, reliable, and secure user device experiences.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Schibsted Media Tech Foundation, taking a DevOps approach to automation, integration, and continuous improvement. You stay on top of security best practices and enjoy solving complex problems with smart, scalable solutions.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage and develop our client MDM systems (e.g. Intune, Jamf), including software packaging, patching, security policies, and system integrations
  • Continuously optimise the user platform experience across laptops and mobile devices
  • Stay informed on trends and evolving needs to future-proof our setup
  • Collaborate within the team and across Schibsted Media Tech Foundation to share knowledge and align solutions
  • Provide tools and documentation to support the Service Desk
  • Engage with external vendors and partners to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions

What we’re looking for

You’re someone who thrives in a tech-savvy, fast-moving environment. You enjoy making complex systems feel simple for end users, and you're motivated by the bigger picture—helping independent journalism thrive through great tech.

We believe you bring:

  • Solid experience as a System Administrator or Systems Engineer on Windows.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise client platforms: deployment, operation, and development
  • Strong skills in Windows/macOS, including management and automation
  • Experience with Azure services (Azure AD, Intune, DevOps), MDM, and LDAP
  • Experience in software packaging and deployment (Windows/Intune)
  • A security-first mindset, with an understanding of modern threats and mitigations
  • Comfort with programming, version control, and system integration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting business applications or IT applications
  • Knowledge of Jamf and iOS management
  • Understanding of how media organisations operate—and how their tech needs may differ from other industries

About the company

Independent Journalism – That’s our business

Schibsted Media Group includes some of the strongest media brands in the Nordics, including VG, Aftenposten, E24, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad, Aftonbladet, Svenska Dagbladet, Omni, and Podme.

Every day, nearly seven million people turn to our editorial media to stay informed, engaged, and entertained through text, audio, images, and video. The trust of our users is crucial to us. To maintain this trust, we prioritise truth, verifiability, and transparency.

Our 2,800 employees are based in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Stockholm, Helsinki, Krakow, and Gdansk. We rely on all of them to succeed, through close collaboration across editorial teams, product and technology environments, and subscription and advertising units.

What began as Christian Schibsted's small printing business in Christiania (now Oslo) in 1839 has grown into one of the leading media companies in the Nordics. For nearly two centuries, our journalism has empowered people, built communities, exposed abuses of power, and strengthened democracies. Our democracies depend on independent journalism. That’s our business.
