About the Position
As Head of Finance & Project Controller, you will play an operational and multifaceted role, leading and developing our Finance department. You’ll drive improvements, ensure financial goals are met, and oversee reporting and accounting functions. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements, implementing strong internal controls, and driving back-office initiatives across the organization.
A key component of this role is overseeing the financial health of various projects by analyzing costs, revenues, and deviations, as well as preparing and presenting detailed reports for project managers and other stakeholders. You will also be responsible for creating project budgets, regularly updating forecasts, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping and proper cost allocation throughout each project.
To succeed in this role, you need to be a precise, structured, proactive, well-organized, and efficient individual who enjoys juggling multiple tasks at once. It’s a critical position that requires you to work closely with and report directly to Sting’s CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage Sting’s finances, including budgeting, financial follow-up, invoicing, reporting, cost control, accounting, etc.
- Serve as Project Controller, ensuring financial management and compliance across all publicly funded projects, including creating project budgets and reporting within the projects.
- Conduct public procurements and negotiate contracts as well as experience with state aid regulations.
- Help secure Sting’s financing by identifying various revenue opportunities.
- Lead a small team of Financial & Project Officers.
- Manage back-office operations and administration, including contracts, IT, procurements, office operations, and personnel administration.

Skills & Requirements
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and financial modeling to provide actionable insights for management and investors.
- A strong background in financial and project controlling.
- Expertise in financial analysis and acquisition processes.
- A successful track record in applying for EU, Vinnova, and other public funding, as well as ensuring compliance in publicly funded projects.
- Experience in public procurement.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work both strategically and operationally.
- Fluency in both Swedish and English (spoken and written) is essential.
