Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) is seeking candidates with a passion for teaching and a strong background in business and/or entrepreneurship for a one-year assignment teaching and mentoring talented African entreprenuers.
On a daily basis, teaching fellows support MEST Trainees in developing their entrepreneurial and global business skills. They work in dynamic teams with other fellows from around the world, which are led by Faculty that have significant software and business experience.
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, and/or entrepreneurship
Experience in financial accounting, financial modeling + unit economics
Experience with Metrics & KPIs
Business models, product management, digital marketing
Lean startup principles (customer development / acquisition)
Startup experience and a good understanding of overall startup operations
Keen interest in technology and emerging business models
Creativity/brainstorming techniques and business idea generation and validation
Business plan writing and evaluation skills
Passion for teaching
Ability to work in a team, and to deal with ambiguity
Good verbal and written communication in English; good presentation skills
Be part of the faculty and participate in influencing the curriculum
Prepare and deliver lectures
Help determine topics and requirements for project assignments
Grade and evaluate deliverables
Tutor students one on one
Prepare students for the global business world by becoming a mentor and positive role model

About the company
Established in Ghana in 2008, MEST offers aspiring African entrepreneurs a fully sponsored twelve month, intensive full-time program. Sourced from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya & South Africa, these Entrepreneurs-In-Training (EITs) are selected each year and receive comprehensive training across the spectrum of skills required to build successful tech businesses, including computer programming, software development, product management, finance, marketing, sales and leadership best practices.
After completion of the program, the EITs have the opportunity to pitch a concept. Winning teams receive a seed round from the MEST Incubator to pursue their idea.
