A bit about the role:
This position will be a key member of the product team, collaborating across HX(Hurtigruten Expeditions) to ensure the right data is being applied to all deployment analysis. Deployment is the overall strategy for where our fleet of 5 expedition vessels operate, when they operate in specific regions, and what type of voyage products they undertake when in a given region (itinerary length and route).
The core function is to support the Director of Deployment on recommending where our ships should be deployed through data and optimize which guests will fill those ships. This position will support the strategic direction and financial performance through quantitativeanalysis and competitive market research partnering with multiple teams across the business.
This individual will be essential in the execution of our team’s “scientist minded” product strategies (inspired by methods introduced by organizational psychologist Adam Grant).
The Product Analyst will be responsible for testing multiple hypothesis to develop optimal outcomes. The core function will be to provide a neutral view to product performance, identify opportunities on a product level and communicate these findings to leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with the product and marine operations teams on maintaining and evolving the port-by-port schedule, ensuring output satisfies multiple criteria including incorporation of financial and analytical metrics.
• Analyse deployment performance and identify trends that may result in recommendations to adjust deployment strategy based on results.
• Create and maintain robust tools to review competitive landscape, undertaking research and partnering with key stakeholders to analyse multiple scenarios. Ensure financial metrics and benchmarking are included. Analyse competitive outputs and identify opportunities for product portfolio optimization.
• Build and maintain key analytical tools and financial models, analysing output on optimal product mix and profitability of itineraries, identifying any risks and providing recommendations.
• Build and maintain tools to monitor Expedition Experience and Land Product P&L, including the ability to forecast, accrue, and reconcile costs against both cost and achieved revenue. Provide management summaries and contribute to recommendations for portfolio adjustments.
• Develop and maintain tools to analyse post cruise guest satisfaction data to quantify impact of various investment initiatives on net promoter scores.
• Produce scorecards that measure contributions to key tools by relevant stakeholder groups to track quality of inputs into strategic planning.
• Present findings to leadership and key decision makers that highlight the opportunities at a ship and product level.
• Track departmental objectives, with a focus on measurable metrics, ensuring deliverables are meeting various timelines.
• Support the transition of key tools and processes into new system workstreams.
• Ensure that all Product Managers have visibility into product performance and understand risks and opportunities related to portfolio optimization.

Education and experience required:
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; 2 to 4 years of business analytics, itinerary planning and/or commercial experience.
• Experience of financial modelling and scenario analysis desirable• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, clear and concise presentations.
Knowledge And Skills
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, Word, and PowerPoint required and ability to manipulate data essential.
• Critical thinker who demonstrates drive and a desire to improve processes where appropriate.
• Requires outstanding business writing and oral communications skills and the ability to create and deliver presentations to senior executives and others.
