Material & Production Planner

Nordberg Medical is a leading innovator in the medical device industry, committed to improving patient outcomes through cutting-edge technology. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Material and Production Planner to join our dynamic team and help drive the successful development and delivery of our medical devices.

The Material and Production Planner will be responsible for ensuring the efficient planning, procurement, and availability of materials required for production in a medical device manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with the CMO’s (Contract Manufacturing Organizations) and internal supply chain and quality team to manage inventory, monitor production schedules, and ensure that all manufacturing operations comply with regulatory standards and internal quality control measures.

Key Responsibilities:

Material & Inventory Management

  • Analyze production schedules and sales forecasts to determine material requirements.
  • Create and maintain Material Requirement Plans (MRP) to ensure material availability in the right quantity and time.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to prevent shortages or overstock.
  • Conduct stock audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with ISO 13485 and other regulatory requirements.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to optimize manufacturing efficiency and ensure on-time product delivery.
  • Collaborate with the production team to resolve scheduling conflicts and prioritize orders based on customer demand and production capacity.
  • Adjust production plans in response to material shortages, machine downtime, or unforeseen disruptions.
  • Monitor production performance, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

Supplier & Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and packaging components.
  • Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure proper storage and distribution of materials.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage material shortages and identify process improvements.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze production processes, material usage, and inventory trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and propose strategies to reduce lead times, enhance material efficiency, and optimize production workflows.

Skills & Requirements

The Material and Production Planner will provide management with regular reports and updates on material and production planning, with a focus on identifying potential risks and delays to ensure that the manufacturing process runs efficiently and remains compliant with all regulations. This role requires close collaboration with production, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and other departments to ensure a smooth material flow while balancing production demands with material availability.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field or equivalent knowledge gain by experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning or material management.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry. Experience in GMP and/or ISO 13485 is desirable, but not essential.
  • Proficient in MRP systems and production scheduling software (preferably Oracle Netsuit).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Proficiency in Swedish is desirable, but not essential.
