What’s the job?

We’re looking for a Lead Digital Designer who can operate as an independent contributor, guiding the way for how design integrates seamlessly into technical and product development processes. This role is critical in setting a new standard for design within our organization and across our industry.

You will:

  • Translate complex, highly technical concepts into intuitive, usable designs for non-technical end users.
  • Work closely with engineering teams, service design collaborators, and C-suite stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Rapidly prototype to solve key product challenges, define requirements, and assist front-end developers with high-fidelity indicative screens.
  • Advocate for design best practices, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and usability across the product.
  • Find efficiencies in the design process, leveraging AI tools and new technologies to accelerate outcomes.
  • Balance multiple perspectives from engineering, service design, and business stakeholders to create elegant, functional solutions.
  • Actively contribute to the growth of the design culture, both within our team and across the organization.

What we are looking for

Your background may be in UX, UI, service design, product design, or a similar field, but what’s essential is your ability to operate strategically at a high level while diving deep into the details.

You have:

  • Experience working with complex software products, ideally in a technical or regulated industry.
  • A systems-thinking approach, ensuring a cohesive and holistic user experience.
  • The ability to work independently, proactively asking the right questions and engaging with technical teams.
  • A collaborative and diplomatic mindset, able to navigate the needs of various stakeholders and arrive at well-balanced solutions.
  • Expertise in design systems, accessibility best practices, and UI/UX principles.
  • Strong communication skills, advocating for design in high-stakes conversations and ensuring alignment across teams.

Bonus skills:

  • Experience with AI tools rapid prototyping tools such as V0, Bolt, Glide, etc. and LLMs for design and requirements gathering.
  • Coding or software development knowledge to bridge the gap between design and engineering.
