Electromechanical Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Electromechanical Engineer to join our team in Belgium. In this role, your initial focus will be on designing and building prototype instruments to actuate microfluidic cartridges, contributing to R&D efforts aimed at developing and implementing innovative processes. As the project progresses, you will also collaborate with external suppliers to design and develop cutting-edge medical device instruments that meet industry standards.

Your Profile

  • Design and develop jigs to test microfluidic cartridges, with the goal of evolving these into
  • fully functional products for production and deployment.
  • Create detailed mechanical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Take the lead on integrating mechanical and electrical systems, including interfacing with sensors, actuators, and microfluidic cartridges.
  • Design and troubleshoot simple electrical circuits, select components, and ensure compatibility with mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with external partners when necessary for specialized electrical system needs.
  • Prototype, test, and refine designs to meet performance, quality, and reliability standards.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechatronics or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of hand’s-on experience in designing and building of electro-mechanical prototypes,
  • Background covers mechanics, electronics, pneumatic. Should be able to design and assemble any of those.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD
  • The job will be at least 50% of hand’s on work with the jigs and instruments in the lab
  • You are fluent in English
