As we expand our initiatives, we’re looking for a Junior Analyst to support key projects, including bootcamps, pilot proposals, and research efforts, while gaining hands-on experience in Africa’s dynamic tech startup ecosystem.

About the role:

  • Position: Junior Analyst
  • Direct reporting line: Co-founders
  • Location: Nairobi, Kenya or Lagos, Nigeria or Accra, Ghana (Remote OK).
  • Contract type: Part-time (~5-10hrs/week)

What You’ll Do

As a Junior Analyst, you’ll collaborate directly with VFA leadership to support high-impact projects. Key responsibilities include:

1. Research & Analysis

  • Conduct desk research to gather insights on the African startup ecosystem, potential sponsors, and target audiences.
  • Develop actionable reports on ideal customer profiles (ICP), industry trends, and market opportunities.
  • Evaluate acquisition strategies and campaigns for ongoing projects.

2. Project Management Support

  • Assist in managing deliverables for initiatives like new VFA Bootcamps, including:
    • Tracking facilitator outreach and sponsorship leads.
    • Supporting curriculum development and documentation.
  • Monitor timelines and help ensure project milestones are met.

3. Operational & Administrative Tasks

  • Coordinate follow-ups with stakeholders and collaborators.
  • Organise and maintain project-related files, data, and communication.

4. Strategic Input

  • Contribute ideas to refine project strategies, acquisition approaches, and campaign messaging.
  • Assist in identifying gaps or opportunities in pathways and outcomes for key initiatives.

Skills & Requirements

Preferred Skills and Background

  • Early-career professional, recent graduate, or individual with relevant internship/part-time experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with the African startup ecosystem or an interest in the “future of work.”
  • Proficiency in:
    • Google Suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.
    • Notion: For project management, documentation, and collaboration.
    • AI and Automation Tools: Ability to work with tools like ChatGPT, Zapier, or other platforms to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Bonus: Experience in tech startups, bootcamps, or talent-focused programs.
