Tax Technology Specialist - Senior Manager - Tax Transformation Team

KPMG Sweden is seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Technology Specialist to join our Tax Transformation team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in tax technology and data management to support clients in developing and implementing innovative tax solutions. You will play a critical role in building out our practice to support our client in shaping their tax data strategy, creating tax technology roadmaps, and guiding them through vendor selections. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead KPMG Sweden’s Tax Technology and Tax Data Management practice including developing and implementing innovative data-driven strategies to address client challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop a comprehensive tax data strategy that aligns with their overall business objectives. This involves understanding their unique tax data landscape and challenges. Analyse their tax data maturity, identify gaps, and define data needs that align with their business objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop a tailored roadmap for optimizing their tax data management. This might involve recommending and implementing new technologies, data cleansing procedures, and automation tools.
  • Collaborate with both client tax and finance departments to integrate tax technology solutions that enhance compliance processes and unlock valuable insights from their data.
  • Partner with compliance and process specialists to identify opportunities for automating manual tasks and streamlining client tax and finance workflows and processes.
  • Leverage your tax and technology expertise to identify new client opportunities for Tax Transformation services by leveraging existing client relationships, identifying new opportunities and effectively communicating the value of our tax transformation services.
  • Build a collaborative and inclusive team environment that promotes continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and innovative thinking within the Tax Technology practice.

Skills & Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
  • Over 6 years of hands-on experience in tax technology, data management, or a related role within large consulting firms (such as the Big Four) or multinational corporations. Proven track record of leading and implementing tax technology solutions or data management solutions is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of tax data management, tax compliance processes, and tax technology platforms (e.g., data analytics tools, data lakes, data warehouses, data engineering platforms like Databricks, tax provision software, tax compliance software).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with various stakeholders and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a deep understanding of finance, accounting systems, and financial data.
  • Passion for driving digital transformation within finance and tax and curiosity and willingness to challenge existing processes to drive innovation. A forward-thinking mindset with a passion for driving innovation in tax technology and data management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation- and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both Swedish and English.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and also to build and maintain client relationships and work collaboratively in a team environment.
