We are now looking to hire a Consultant or Senior Consultant to our office in Ho Chi Minh City. In the past 30 years, Vietnam has become one of the fastest growing economies in Asia. Thanks to the political stability and long-term investments in infrastructure and manufacturing industries as well as the ongoing supply chain diversification trends in Asia, it has become an attractive market for Swedish companies.

Business Sweden has been active in Vietnam since 1999. From our offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, we support Swedish businesses with strategic advice and help them to set up a local network.
Our Ho Chi Minh City office, inaugurated in 2022, provides an excellent opportunity to grow our Vietnam operations further as around 50 out of 60 Swedish subsidiaries in Vietnam are based in the city, which is also Vietnam's economic capital.

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant we are looking for a person who has an exceptional drive and a can-do mind-set as projects vary from high-level market analysis and strategy development to arranging and participating in hands-on business meetings between Swedish clients and local customers or partners.

The role includes both strategic, tactic and operational responsibilities such as:

  • Initiation of sales to existing or potential Swedish subsidiaries located in Vietnam, APAC as well as in Sweden, where tasks include identifying new business opportunities, as well as prospecting, contacting new potential clients, setting up and participating in sales meetings, and participating in developing a suggested solution and closing the deal
  • Working within our business promotion, and attracting clients to our different platforms in targeted industries such as Energy, Transportation, and Healthcare and Life Science
  • Working within our advisory operations, scoping and delivering strategic consultancy projects to Swedish large and middle-sized companies

We already have a strong team in place in Vietnam, and we set the bar high for applicants’ aptitude in analysing market drivers and match these with the Swedish offering and strengths.

The role is based in Ho Chi Minh City, but you would be expected to work with our teams and clients across APAC and Sweden, as required, and the job could during times involve an extensive amount of travelling.

Formal requirements

  • Higher academic degree, probably a Master of Science in Business, Administration or/and Engineering
  • Management consultant or within business development working experience for at least 5-7 years or more
  • Interest in trade promotion, business development and internationalization
  • Experience from sales of advisory services
  • Ability to interact with both government and private sector stakeholders, and as an individual you are results-oriented, analytical and adaptable
  • Experience from running long term programs and projects with multi-layer deliveries and complex role structures
  • A high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English and Swedish is a requirement
