Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior People Partner to join our People & Culture Team in Prague. This role is pivotal in supporting the set-up of our new business entity in Czech Republic and growth of the team, establishing sound HR processes and in ensuring compliance. This role will be joining HX at an exciting time working closely within the global People and Culture team.

The Senior People Partner will bring experience, enthusiasm, detail focus and a can-do attitude to the People & Culture team and the HX business.

Key Responsibilities:

· Providing advice and assistance to global and local managers on policies, procedures, legislation, and agreements, also employee relations, performance and staff Management related to land teams and seafarers.

· Support the set-up of a new office in Prague and ensure processes are put in place to meet all local HR compliance requirements.

· Manage Right to Work Checks, Visa applications and internal transfers across borders with support from external immigration lawyers ensuring compliant and timely resolution

· Work with the relevant stakeholders on establishing and supporting benefits and payroll processes.

· Handling HR matters in accordance with legal requirements, Industry and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).

· Conducting investigations in a thorough, timely, and respectful manner inclusive of collaboration with key stakeholders, effective communication, documentation, recommendations, and managing outcomes.

· Maintaining employee related documentation (Employment contracts, job descriptions, contract changes, agreements, salary records)

· Supporting a smooth employee lifecycle including advising managers on role reviews, recruitment, selection, hiring strategies, onboarding, change processes, advising with career planning, preparing separations, and conducting exit interviews.

· Updating and maintaining the HR Database and Software programs including the use of Jira or another case management system for tracking requests and supporting other team members when absent.

· Helping to develop, update, implement global and/or local HR policies and procedures.

· Presenting the results of surveys, new initiatives or programs related to HR or working environment.

· Compiling and analysing various reports and statistics as needed.

· Delivering and/or developing training, employee engagement programs, rolling out HR campaigns, in partnership with the key stakeholders as needed.

Skills & Requirements

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

• A degree in relevant area of business or 5+ years of experience in HR

Essential Knowledge & Skills

• Have a solid understanding of Czech employment law and regulatory requirements

• Experience working in a multi-national organisation

• Strong Excel skills

• Experienced conducting employee relations investigations & disciplinary conversations

• Fluency in Czech and English

Desirable Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with managing Visa applications and immigration requirements

• Experience writing HR policies and procedures across multiple countries.

• Experience with CBAs, Trade Unions, and/or Work Councils

• Experience with analysis and presenting key findings.

• Experience with various HR, Jira, Pension, Attendance platforms

• Willingness to learn and update knowledge on employment laws and/or requirements in various jurisdictions.
