The Human Resources Manager will initially be located in both in Stockholm at our project office and in Västerås at our temporary office. During the first half of 2019 most likely moving to the Northvolt Labs site in Västerås. The HR Manager will report directly to the Human Resource Director based in Stockholm and with a dotted reporting line to the Head of Manufacturing based in Västerås.
As HR Manager at Northvolt in Västerås you’ll be a part of a passionate, skilled and diverse team. You are expected to contributing in building a stellar HR-team over time, and should have demonstrated a successful track record of people leadership.
Among your key areas of responsibilities:
With a high-quality mindset and approach you will be dedicated to building an excellent and functional organization starting from scratch, playing a key role in supporting and coaching our managers and employees in all HR related questions. With your passion and can-do attitude you will take the lead into establishing, developing and maintaining Northvolt’s HR processes and policies locally. You will ensure that processes, systems and work routines are as optimized as possible and aligned with business needs and strategy.

As part of your umbrella of responsibilities you will ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource law requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings, handling the relation with the unions. Our ideal candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with previous substantial experience in Human Resources, preferably in manufacturing companies
A strategic thinker to support with the definition of HR strategies as well as an excellent hands on doer who get things executed and does not mind to get into the details
You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related
You have solid knowledge of compensation strategy, performance management, employee relations, safety practices and talent acquisition, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a manner that is compliant with relevant employment laws
You have previous proven experience of creating a culture of engagement, collaboration and teamwork
You have experience in leading people directly or indirectly – using positive leadership and managerial techniques
Excellent communications skills in written and verbal communication with fluency in English and Swedish are required

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a busy, fast moving environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems.
