Technical Business Analyst

Gard is looking for a Technical Business Analyst. The successful applicant will join our Service Delivery team within Gard’s Technology department in Arendal. The department has an international working environment with friendly colleagues and a strong company culture with emphasis on competence development.

The Service Delivery team provides management, maintenance, and development of Gard’s core software portfolio, with a wide range of responsibilities; business analysis, prioritization and planning, follow-up of both external development and in-house integration development, testing, deployment, 2nd and 3rd line support, and technical operations and maintenance – all in close cooperation with experienced business users.

The successful candidate will be part of the Operations group within Service Delivery, dedicated to technical operations and maintenance of our systems. The current focus for this group is our insurance, ERP and IAM systems. This is a highly technical role involving administration of the applications and maintenance at the server and database level.

Key responsibilities

  • Grow into the role of technical expert on our core IT systems
  • Follow up error logs, handle monitor alerts and maintain general system health
  • Handle support cases together with Helpdesk, superusers, and vendors
  • Assist in articulating technical and functional requirements
  • Plan and prioritize system improvements together with our Product Owners
  • Plan integrations together with our developers and architects
  • Make sure planned changes fit within our IT landscape and enterprise architecture
  • Make sure systems stay compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Plan and execute releases
  • Plan and follow up on budget for development and licenses
  • Contribute ideas to improve or automate IT and business processes
  • After some time, expand to a wider range of our application portfolio

Skills & Requirements

Key competencies

  • IT background, e.g. from DevOps, application administration or development
  • Linux and/or Windows Server management experience

Personal skills

  • Good communication skills towards both business users and IT personnel
  • Solid English skills
  • Strong problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand complex business processes
