Northvolt is on a mission to revolutionize energy and produce batteries so advanced they will make oil history. We’re seeking a passionate Intern to join our innovative Operations Team at Northvolt Drei, one of Germany’s first large-scale battery gigafactories located in Heide. You’ll play a vital role in scaling operations at this groundbreaking facility, which will be powered entirely by renewable wind energy.

As electric mobility gains momentum in Germany, we are excited to establish this cutting edge gigafactory dedicated to producing the world’s greenest batteries. This ambitious multi-billion Euro project will be rolled out in phases over the next 5+ years, representing a major investment in sustainable technology here in Europe.

About the job

You support us in setting up the Operations organisation of Northvolt Drei. This means working on a big variety of technical projects in a highly cross-functional and fast-paced environment.

The person we are looking for is an ambitious individual who is passionate about batteries, building a greener future and always act in favor of the team. We are looking for a person who is eager to learn, that takes ownership of the tasks on hand and is not afraid to ask questions. Northvolt as an organization values individual talent and autonomy and willingness to go above and beyond. The period of the internship is 6 months.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the project managers in their respective areas, taking ownership where needed
  • Run data-based analysis on business-critical topics for technical and business challenges around our gigafactory
  • Use tool and methods to secure data driven decision making by Operations Team
  • Support delivery of project activities within the scope of budget quality and time
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to drive results towards program goals
  • Perform other tasks assigned by manager

    Skills & Requirements

    We believe that you have:

    • An ongoing education in science or engineering (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar) preferred shortly before graduation
    • Previous internship experience in industry, start-ups and/or management consulting
    • Fluent in (technical) English, experience from a multi-cultural environment is a plus
    • Excellent analytical skills which can also be implemented visually
    • Positivity, true team player with a can-do attitude that is passionate about shaping a greener future in the automotive industry
