​​Security Analyst

​The Security Analysts are the first line of defence, and the ones who detect, investigate, and respond to incoming incidents, investigations, and alerts. They make sure to prioritise what needs attention and to be handled first based on an analyse of urgency and criticality of the event. This role is taking the first actions on an incident to minimize the harm and secure the environment, it is securing the first evidence of compromise and documenting the process.

Key responsibilities

Overall areas of responsibility and activities.

  • Perform Security Engineering tasks (build, maintain and further develop) in Azure (Sentinel), Microsoft 365, AWS and any other solutions managed by Northvolt. 
  • Proactively work towards continual improvements of security processes, tools and routines.  
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.  
  • Monitor systems for irregular behaviour, set up preventive measures and use-cases.  
  • Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure, devices, and systems.  
  • Define and continuously improve the way of working based on the cybersecurity architecture and the needs of the organization.  
  • Support the different disciplines within the Cyber Defence Centre (and extended Security team) in creating/enhancing capabilities and workflows.

    Skills & Requirements

    We believe that you have :

    • A bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Practical experience as a Security Analyst in a SOC setting or related position is a plus
    • Proven knowledge of security monitoring and incident response handling, cyber threat mitigation using SIEM tools and Cloud Security Engineering.
    • Sound and broad technical knowledge of networks, platforms, operating systems and programming languages, including cloud technologies
    • Knowledge of threat intelligence, threat hunting, vulnerability management, and handling of sensitive investigations.

    Specific skills:

    • Broad understanding of cyber threats including common attack vectors, TTP’s and attribution and its relation to frameworks and standards, like MITRE.
    • Understanding of security platforms and systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems.
    • Knowledge of identity and access management principles.
    • Knowledge of SOC best practices and practical ways of working.
    • Experience and interest in OT-security and in manufacturing industry is a plus.
    • Relevant security certifications like CCNP, GIAC, SCA, CISSP is a plus.
