Main goal

The Expert contributes to the delivery of collaborative and targeted efforts among UEFA’s commercial partners in view of advancing the ambitions laid out in the UEFA Football Sustainability Strategy 2030.

Catering to an increased demand in services and solutions, a particular focus of the position will be to focus on continuously improving UEFA’s performance and delivery capacity on partner ESG’s engagement across club and national team competitions.

This includes acting as advisor for internal and external stakeholders to design and implement impactful activities that deliver mutual value.

By deepening expertise and delivery capacity in these efforts, the position will support the attraction and retention of UEFA's commercial partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Shaping the development of internal processes around the engagement of commercial partners on the subject of sustainability
  • Liaising with relevant UEFA marketing agencies to shape a coherent and effective approach (e.g. strategy development, due diligence, pitch decks, etc.)
  • Contributing to the operationalisation of event-related environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies
  • Preparing and analysing actionable insights as well as data for reporting, most notably UEFA’s seasonal Respect report
  • Working in partnership with UEFA's marketing and communications divisions as well as UEFA Club Competitions SA to build awareness, understanding and recognition of UEFA’s work on sustainability
  • Monitoring emerging trends and best practices and translating information into digestible and actionable insights

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience working in a marketing-focused function exposed to sustainability topics (sports organisation, rights holder, brand, marketing agency, corporate sustainability, consulting, etc.)

Education:

  • University degree or equivalent with a focus on marketing

Languages:

  • English: Proficient
  • Command of any additional language would be an advantage

Other requirements:

  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Able to plan and manage projects and work to budgets
  • Motivated and committed team player, able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to process concepts and information into concrete, digestible education and training material
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient user of MS Office
